The first part will be focused to understanding basic physical, chemical, and biological properties of saccharides and nucleic acids. a) stereochemistry, biological functions, b) chemical and enzymatic synthesis of glycosides and nucleic acid components. The second part will be devoted to understanding biochemical processes a) models of cellular saccharide epitops, b) recognition of saccharide antigens by antibodies, c) interaction between proteins and saccharides. The third part will deal with a) drug design, b) synthesis of analogs of saccharides and nucleosides. |

Evaluation of presentation on current topic from the field of bioorganic chemistry of saccharides or nucleic acids. It is compulsory to pass written examination test with the result at least 60 %. |
