Last update: TAJ111 (03.12.2013)
In this course, the integrated interpretation of the principles of heterogeneous, homogeneous, and enzyme catalyses is presented. Special attention is devoted to heterogenized catalysts. This bachelor course is a basis for the following master course in applied catalysis. The up-to-date character of the delivered information reflects the continuous and vivid development of the knowledge of catalysis.
Aim of the course -
Last update: KOUBEKJ (16.08.2013)

Students will be able:

  • to solve research and applied tasks from the fields of heterogeneous, homogeneous and enzyme catalysis,
  • to monitor behaviour of catalysts in both laboratory and practice,
  • to use the results of characterization techniques applied to heterogeneous catalysts,
  • to select an appropriate catalyst for both laboratory and industrial applications

R - Selected current texts from the literature recommended by the lecturer during the lectures.

Learning resources -
Last update: KOUBEKJ (16.08.2013)

A lot of supporting material is available for studying catalysis. Besides the recommended books on catalysis there is a plenty of information available under the key word "catalysis" in the electronic databases in the CIS (Central Information System) of the VSCHT. For applied catalysis, the most recommended is the "Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry".

Requirements to the exam -
Last update: KOUBEKJ (16.08.2013)

A set of MCQ tests covering the programme of the course. The results of these tests are discussed with the lecturer during the semester.
