Basic knowledge of pipeline transportation of fuels and related legislation. Elementary calculations in the pipeline technology - various measures of gas amount and their mutual conversions including unit conversions, flow of compressible fluid (gas) and non-Newtonian liquid (crude oil), pipe sizing for given operational pressure, calculation of leaks and escapes. Lectures are divided into two separate blocks aiming on gaseous and liquid energy carriers/products.

Students will be able to: orient themselves in Czech pipeline industry and related legislation, express the amount of gas in different ways and convert one way of amount expression into another, including units conversion, size the piping for given operational pressure, calculate pipe flow of compressible fluid (gas) and non-Newtonian liquid (crude oil), calculate escape of gas or oil from the leak.

Examination is only possible after the delivery of the solved set of computational examples obtained during lectures.

Examination itself consists of two separate parts (teaching blocks) and the final assessment is calculated as a weighted average of both parts. The form of examination is combination of multiple choice test (min 50% to pass) and oral examination (min 50% to pass).
