Annotation -
The aim of the participation in summer/winter school oriented on inorganic non-metallic materials ceramics is to show to PhD students the advanced trends in materials science and technology and to show them the international dimension of science and research in this area. The student proposes a summer/winter school, which could be taken as one of the study course in module B, after consultation with supervisor. Study programme board in the frame of individual study plan approves it. As good practice example could be named the International Glass Summer School of International Commission on Glass), organised every year in Montpelliere (F). The aim of this school is to show to PhD students and young glass specialists the advanced trends in glass science and technology. The students of mentioned school are trained not only during lectures but also prepare and defend a short project. Auspices of ICG technical commission TC23, oriented on glass education, guarantee the high standard of the school. The lecturers at the school are usually renowned professors from world universities (USA, D, F, UK) and experts from the glass industry. According to the international character of the school (both students and lecturers), the participation also increase the soft skills of students, especially their ability to co-operate in international team and to present their results to international auditorium.
