Thermodynamics of materials is an inseparable part of theoretical foundations of materials engineering. It deals with thermodynamic properties of solids and phase and chemical equilibria in heterogeneous systems. It allows to simulate various processes of materials preparation and treatment and so it contributes to better understanding of these processes and their optimization. This course proposes the above mentioned theme in slightly advanced form. Knowledge obtained within this course will be used in other materials related subjects in Mgr. study.
Aim of the course -
Last update: Hladíková Jana (04.01.2018)

Students will be able to:

Derive and explain basic thermodynamic relations.

Calculate of equilibrium composition of simple heterogenneous systems.

Interpret binary and ternary phase diagrams of condensed systems.
