Annotation -
The subject gives a survey of metallic, inorganic non-metallic, polymeric and composite materials which are used in various fields. Important mechanical properties of materials, as well as electric, magnetic, thermal and optical properties of materials, are explained. Chemical resistance of various materials is described. The relations between structure, properties and final applications are emphasised for each material group.
