The subject puts emphasis on the fundamental physical-chemical principles involved in dressing of ores and metal-bearing wastes and in metallurgical reactions utilized for pyrometallurgical or hydrometallurgical production of metals. The practical applications of the individual processes are continuously demonstrated on the basic flowsheets of iron and steel production and non-ferrous metals production.
