Annotation -
Subject give a survey of metallic materials which are used at present. In the first part, the structure of metals and alloys and the most important mechanical properties of metallic materials are described. Physical properties, i.e. electric, magnetic, optic and thermal, are mentioned, as well. A part of the subject is devoted to the technological procedures used for metallic materials. A large chapter is devoted to ferrous alloys, i.e. steels and cast irons. Information on non-ferrous metals and metal matrix composites is provided, too.
