Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

specify basic properties of raw and vulcanized rubber

describe the structure of vulcanizate network from the physical and chemical point of view

understand the principles of processes of plastication of raw rubber, vulcanization of rubber compound, rubber reclaiming and recycling

orient themselves in raw materials used in rubber industry, i.e. both rubbers and additives; explain function of these additives and name some examples

master the principia of rubber compounds formulation, choose the rubber suitable for particular application
