Annotation -
The course focuses on understanding the effects of chemical and natural stressors on humans and other organisms. There are shown the most important groups of pollutants, their sources in the environment, applications, and negative effects on living organisms. The lecture is an overview of classical toxicological tests, alternative methods (QSARs, in vitro tests) and REACH legislation.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

  • assess the potential adverse effects on humans caused by exposure to selected groups of pollutants
  • understand the REACH legislation
  • propose suitable design for testing the toxicity of chemicals.
