The course focuses mainly on chemical analysis (titration, gravimetric, photometric method) ores and other raw materials. The first part is devoted to decomposition of samples by acids and melting. The main part of the course is devoted to a review of methods of analysis of the most important metals (Fe, Mn, Al, As, Sb, Au, Ag, nonferrous metals, alkali metals and alkaline earth metals) and some non-metals (S, Si, P, P and C). The final part of the course is devoted to a review of chemical methods of water analysis (determination of major anions and cations, oxygen, chlorine, CO2, COD and BOD).

Students completing the course will gain theoretical and practical knowledge about the application of classical methods of chemical analysis (gravimetry and titration) on ore materials and surface and drinking water. They will learn various preparation methods: acid digestion and melting. Last update: MESTEKO (15.09.2013)
