Annotation -
The course is focused on advanced spectroscopic methods employed by pharmaceutical analysis. The currently used spectroscopic techniques, spectral data processing and evaluation are discussed considering drug detection and ingredients identification. The quantitative aspects of multicomponent system analysis are stressed out.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

Describe and to explain principles of methods of molecular spectroscopy and microspectroscopy, their instrumentation and application for drug analysis.

Handle methodology of spectral library creation and the use of spectral libraries in analytical laboratories of pharmaceutical companies.

Manage principles of multivariate chemometric methods for analysis of multicomponent mixtures focused on pharmaceutical applications.
