Annotation -
Because of different effect of enantiomes of an active pharmaceutical ingradient (API), lectures are focused on enantiomers characterization, separation by various separation techniques, and estimation of enantiomeric excess.

Aim of the course -

Student should be able to:

  • discuss basic mechanisms of different biological activity of enantiomes;
  • mention important spectroscopic methods for characterization of enantiomers;
  • describe the principlae of chiral separations and chiral selectors;
  • discuss the principle of chiral separation techniques.
