![]() | Hello, On Monday, April 28 after 5 pm, some of the university's information systems will be unavailable due to maintenance work. Affected systems are the Education Information System, Financial IS (iFIS), MIS/OBD/Verso, Kopla and related agendas. It is anticipated that everything should be back online and running by Tuesday morning. Work with e-mail or shared drives will not be affected. Computer center |

The course is focused on the application of chemical thermodynamics to inorganic systems. It is devided into six blocks devoloping the fundamental thermodynamics concepts: Identity of inorganic substances, Heat and temperature, Models of inorganic phases, Conditions of thermodynamic equilibrium, Transitions and reactions, Phase diagrams of inorganic systems. The lectures are complemented by practical training focused on applications of calculation and database system FactSage for phase and chemical equilibria in inorgnaic substances.

Students will be able to: analyze the inorganic systems based on mass balance matrices, determine the number of independent components and stoichiometry of independent reactions in a homogenneous system construct thermodynamic models of inorganic phases derive stoichiometric conditions of homogeneous equilibrium and solve the the equilibrium composition of a homogenneous system derive stoichiometric conditions of phase equilibrium and construct simple phase diagrams employ the nonstoichiometric algorithm based on constrained Gibbs energy minimim for equilibrium calculations of complex multicomponent systems construct and interprete various types of phase diagrams Last update: Sedmidubský David (14.05.2014)
