Subject focuses on the adoption of analytical methods used to determine the operational, utility and legislative parameters and characteristics of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. Students are introduced to the theories of the origin of fossil fuels, their possible uses and the environmental impact of their use. They also learn about the properties, uses and analysis of alternative fuels, especially solid alternative fuels, FAME and bioethanol.
