The course represents the concepts of chiroptical methods as specific spectroscopic methods for the structural study of chiral molecular and supramolecular systems. It covers the theoretical basics and the concepts of chiroptical instrumental methods and the methodology of chiroptical measurements. The variants of chiroptical methods are described. Their advantages, disadvantages and limits are discussed. The special focus is devoted to spectroscopy of electronic and vibrational circular dichroism and their application in the study of biologically important interactions and chiral recognition.

Ab initio calculations of chiroptical properties and their relation to experiment 13. Application of circular dichroism generally and in study of biologically important interactions and of chiral supramolecular systems 14.
