Annotation -
The aim of the semestral work is to restore (conserve) a given object, its survey and documentation needed for completing the restoration (conservation) report. The semestral work serves for improving hand-craft techniques skills required for conservation - restoration of real cultural heritage objects.

Course completion requirements -

The course ends with a classified credit. The condition for the credit is active participation in the course, evaluation of the restoration intervention, the quality of the semester work and the presentation of the results and answers to the questions in the discussion on the presented work.

Learning outcomes -

Students will be able to:

perform a material survey of the given object by using available analytical techniques,

collect high-quality photodocumentation of the object,

assess the condition of the object based on the survey and to propose an appropriate restoration procedure,

restore and conserve the object following the proposed and approved restoration plan and to complete a restoration report (the text of the semestral work).
