Annotation -
The course is aimed at traditional and alternative motor fuels, their properties, production and use. Problems of measuring emissions and their reduction from combustion engines are introduced. Students are also acquainted with the legislation and the prospects for the use of alternative fuels.

Learning outcomes -

Students will be able to:

Understand the issue of fuel use in transport and to know the current trends in the characteristics and quality of fuels.

Explain the basic technological processes associated with the production of conventional and alternative motor fuels.

Understand the basic legislation governing the use of transport fuels.

Explain the relationship between fuel quality and the formation and composition of the exhaust gases, including options to minimize pollutant emissions.

Fundamentals of analysis of pollutant emissions in the exhaust gases.
