Annotation -
Introduction to forensic odorology provides a foundation of knowledge about the human odor, genetic background, their molecular composition and olfactory ability of dogs in forensic identification and detection of other odors (explosives, drugs, etc..). The course is supplemented with legal aspects of forensic odorology and examples of forensic practice. The course provides basic information on the use of smell dog people. It also describes the anatomy and physiology of smell with special reference to the dog home. Special lectures are devoted to human odor, odorology forensic science, genetics smell and central olfactory structures. Students are also briefed on the methods of training dogs to work odor.

Learning outcomes -

Student will be able to:

understand the importance of odors for forensic analysis. Will be familiar with the theory and applications of the use of scent stop watching people, person identification, detection of drugs and explosives detection. It will also be familiar with aspects of scents such evidence as relevant legislation. The importance and applicability of scents will be documented by a number of examples.
