Annotation
This course shows the use of carbon sources in the preparation of basic organic products ane intermediates. The course is divided on the base of processes used for the production. This sorting enables the accent on similar production design. All processes possess by the similar structure starting with reaction overview. Reaction overview is followed by explanation of kinetic and thermodynamic aspects, examples of catalysts used for this process and information about technical leading of processes. Each process ends by the most important examples of processes. Examples of processes show the simplified basic technologies of chosen compounds. The basic knowledges are taken from organic, physical and analytical chemistry together with chemical engineering.

Aim of the course

Students will be able:

  • analyze and optimalize basic processes of chemical industry
  • shift the results of laboratory research to industrial praxis
  • design and optimalize the preparation of variety of organic compounds
  • decide about the optimal catalyst for given process
