Annotation -
The aim of the course is to explain the principles and importance of decentralised wastewater treatment as an alternative to common centralised wastewater treatment, which cannot be optimal, economical and sustainable in every situation (geographical and/or socio-economical). The main idea of the course is to show to the students wastewater as a source of energy, materials and water that should be maximally utilized and treated as close as possible to the place of its origin. The course gives an overview of both low- and high-tech technologies that can be used in small scale, including their principles and possibility of their application in the context of Czech and EU legislation.
