Annotation -
In this course with individual experimental character, students will at first prepare a short review on the assigned topic from biotechnology of pharmaceuticals. Further, students will be acquainted with laboratory and IT methodology related to the assigned topic. In collaboration with the supervisor, a systematic work plan will be prepared and experimental work will be performed. In the course of their work, students will learn the basic methods of obtaining and processing of experimental data. Students will learn to evaluate the data and compare the results with published literature.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

  • plan and conduct laboratory experiments in the range of methodologies available for the individual topic in collaboration with the supervisor
  • perform basic analysis and evaluation of experimental data
  • process the experimental results in the form of short professional communication referencing literary sources

Syllabus -

In this course, separate experimental topics are announces by the supervisors from the Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology. Students will be acquainted with modern laboratory techniques, namely in the following fields: microbiology, biochemistry, immunochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, cell physiology, bioengineering, biotechnology etc. An integral part of the course is the work with original scientific literature, planning and execution of experiments, methods of data processing and presentation of results. Student will evaluate the results and compared with available data in the literature. The output of the course will be presented in the form of a short professional communication.
