Annotation -
The course introduces students to the most important processes that are used to produce large volume organic chemicals. Graduates will gain an overview of the production and use of ethylene, propylene, buta-1,3-butadiene, benzene, toluene, xylenes, hydrogen, ammonia, biodiesel, bioethanol, explosives and other substances.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

Describe the basics of the production of the most important large volume organic chemicals.

Be familiar with the production of the main types of synthetic plastics, rubbers, resins, fibres and other organic chemicals.

Understand the production of the most important species of liquid biofuels.
