The course introduces the theoretical principles and mechanisms of degradation of selected organic material of heritage objects (wood, paper, leather, parchment, wax, etc.), including methods for their conservation.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

Describe the mechanisms of degradation of some organic materials of historical subjects.

Propose methods of conservation and restoration, including the assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of these methods.

Suggest practice preventive care for these objects.
