The subject is focused on understanding of basic principles of biochemistry; it means structure and function of different biological molecules as well as metabolism.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

Understand basic principles of biochemistry; it means structure and function of different biological molecules including correlation between their structure and function, principals of enzyme catalysis and division of enzymes into basic classes, functions of biological membranes and membrane transport, basic concept of metabolism and energy conversion, major metabolic pathways including photosynthesis and nitrogen compounds metabolism.
