The aim of this subject is to provide information about the materials and technologies used in the automotive industry. The production and processing of steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, rubber, thermoplastics, glass and ceramic materials are mentioned. Production, processing and surface treatment technologies are discussed in relation with the particular type of material.

Select materials for use in the automotive industry.

Optimize materials processing technology for the automotive industry.

Select appropriate types of fluids with regard to the material composition of the engine.
