Annotation -
The lecture is focused on providing general knowledge of chemistry and physics of pharmaceutical solids. Great emphasis is put on the crystal structure and the resulting properties of drugs. Very important phenomenon of polymorphism and solid forms of active pharmaceutical substances (anhydrates, hydrates, salts, cocrystals) are discussed in more details. Chemical and physical degradation processes and products of solid API are also mentioned.
