Annotation -
The course follows the course Analytical chemistry A and it continues in lectures and seminars focused on fundamental concepts of instrumental analysis. Special attention is paid to spectrometric techniques, hyphenated techniques, chemical sensors and biosensors. An important part of the course is dedicated to (i) analytical data processing and evaluation, and (ii) interpretation of vibrational, mass and NMR spectra.
Last update: Řezanka Pavel (12.09.2023)
Aim of the course -

1. The graduate will acquire knowledge of the discussed analytical methods.

2. The graduate will acquire the skill to describe and explain the principles of spectrometric methods of elemental and molecular analysis and their application in coupled and combined techniques.

3. The graduate will acquire the skill to interpret vibrational, mass and NMR spectra of simple organic substances.

4. The graduate will be able to process and evaluate basic analytical data, including uncertainty estimation.

5. The graduate will be able to propose an analytical procedure for solving a given analytical problem.
