Annotation -
The subject introduces students to computational packages for simulation of chemical reactors and separation apparatuses and for technological data processing. Calculations are performed using the Matlab package and the simulator of technological processes Aspen Plus. In the first case the effort is focused on simulations of ideal types of chemical reactors that work in steady or unsteady state. Simulations of unit operations and their combinations are carried out using Aspen Plus.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

1. Use selected program kits for analysis, balancing and design of chemical and pharmaceutical processes.

2. Transform mathematical descriptions of problems into the programming language of Matlab.

3. Solve partial tasks in Aspen Plus and find physical-chemistry data in available databases and analyse productivity of industrial processes.
