The course deals with deeper understanding of structure, syntheses and applications of organoelement compounds containing less common non-transition elements of the second period (organoboron and organofluorine compounds), as well as of the third period (organosilicon, organophosphorus and organosulfur compounds). Apart of that, the attention is also paid to the detailed structure, syntheses and applications of selected organometallic (organolithium, organomagnesium and organocopper) compounds and hypervalent iodine compounds. The emphasis is given to the novel structural aspects obtained by quantum chemistry studies, as well as on modern synthetic methods and understanding of their mechanisms.
