The students will get acquainted with the research issue of Inorganic Chemistry Department. The preparation and characterization of various forms of inorganic materials. e.i. thin layers as bulk materials, powders, isomers of coordination compounds will be practiced. The materials characterization using modern techniques as DSC / TGA, AFM, X-ray, fluorescence spectrometry, mode spectroscopy. The aim of the practical exercises is a quick orientation in the scheduled lab, results obtaining and evaluation or search of general relationships between the determined data.

Laboratory practice is carried out by students at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. From the tasks offered, the student will do eight to twelve (selection takes into account the difficulty) laboratory tasks that must be completed during the semester.
The tasks will be selected from the following: 1. Processing and analysis of experimental data 2. Differectial scanning calorimetry of PbTiO3 – determination of heat capacity and thermodynamic characteristics of a feroelectric transition 3. Synthesis of transition metals perovskites by sol-gel methods 4. Measuring of luminiscence and absorption of optically active materials: preparation and characterisation of optically active materials 5. Simulation of lead azide concentration measurement in a waste water from the production of explosives 6. Synthesis and characterisation of geometric and linkage isomers of cobalt(III) complexes 7. Measuring of physical properties of thermoelectric cobalt-based mixed oxides 8. Graphene - synthesis by exfoliation of graphite oxide and its characterisation 9. Evaluation of unpaired electrons number in a paramagnetic complex 10. Electrochemical and spectroelectrochemicaal properties of ferrocene 11. Characterisation of isomers or alotropes by Raman spectroscopy and XRD 12. Scanning electron microscopy 13. Growth of high-temperature superconducting crystals of REBCO 14. Basic techniques of work with polarizing microscope
