The main objective of the course will be to introduce students to the basic principles of green chemistry, which are an integral part of modern chemistry. In the course, students will gain an overview of various chemical and technological processes, principles of raw material processing and analytical procedures from various areas of chemistry, which they will analyze, compare and discuss with an emphasis on the basic principles of green chemistry. Additionally, students apply various tools to evaluate ways to reduce waste production and energy consumption of processes, design safer chemicals or process biomass for various purposes.
