Annotation -
The aim of the course is to provide information on the formation, movement and transformations of various chemical substances in the individual components of the environment - the atmosphere, hydrosphere and geosphere. Attention is focused on the study of chemical and biochemical processes in the environment, the influence of pollutants on natural processes. Students are introduced to the major environmental pollutants, current events and trends in environmental protection. The course also focuses on climate change and its consequences for the environment.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to: characterize individual components of the environment in terms of the occurrence of chemicals, their transformation and transport; interpret the fate of chemicals in the environment; describe and explain the problems associated with pollution of individual components of the environment, discuss the possibility of remedial measures.

Requirements to the exam -

In order to pass the exam, you must score a minimum of 51 out of 100 points in the written test, which can be taken on announced dates during the exam period. There are two make-up dates in addition to the regular one, which can also be used to improve the grade (the teacher must be informed of this intention). The grading of the test follows the usual scale: 91-100 A, 81-90 B, 71-80 C, 61-70 D, 51-50 E, <50 F. No literature or notes of any kind are allowed in the writing of the test.
