Substances versus organism - Uptake of xenobiotics, barriers to the uptake, input, absorption, distribution. 3. Biotransformation of xenobiotics, examples of biotransformation reactions of toxic substances. 4. Effects of xenobiotics, types and mechanisms of effects. 5. Assessment of toxicity, literature sources and experimental procedures. 6. Regulation of work with chemicals and MSDS. 7. Toxicity, ecotoxicity and hazards of inorganic substances. 8. Toxicity, ecotoxicity and hazards of organic substances. 9. Abuse of chemical substances: chemical warfare agents and addictive substances. 10. Safety at chemical workplaces (main hazards and ways to minimize the risk). 11. Abiotic and biotic components of the global ecosystem. 12. Biogeochemical cycles and strams energy in nature. 13.
