The aim of this course is to teach students to apply their knowledge from the "Unit Operations in Chemical Engineering" course also to more complex problems, e.g. problems including more than a single unit operation. The students solve assigned problems in groups of three students in order to learn the team-work basics. The steps of problem solving are as follows: problem analysis, selection of the methodology, obtaining the necessary data, and solving the problem itself. Students write up the final report and present their results to fellow students in the class at the end of the semester.
