The course significantly extends the knowledge about theoretical principles and especially practical application of selected separation, spectroscopy and electrochemical analytical methods that are applicable for the characterization of complex hydrocarbon mixtures and contaminated samples from the environment.
Aim of the course -
Last update: Pátková Vlasta (19.11.2018)

After completing the course, students will easily orientate in the problematics of the analysis of hydrocarbon mixtures and contaminated samples from the environment. They will understand in detail the principles of the individual analytical methods, the differences between them, their practical applications and they will be able to choose an appropriate method for the intended application. Within the preparing and presentation of their projects, students will improve their presentation skills.

The course is divided into three basic blocks. Within the first block, individual analytical (separation, spectroscopic and electrochemical) methods for analysis of hydrocarbon mixtures will be discussed. Emphasis will be given on extending the theoretical and practical knowledge about the different methods obtained in previous years of study. The second block will focus on the application of selected analytical techniques in the analysis of hydrocarbon mixtures and contaminated samples from the environment. The third block will be devoted to the project preparation and defense.
