Annotation -
The aim of the course is to teach the main topics of coal and gas processing and utilization. In addition to the overview of the issue of natural gas origin, the subject describes the treatment of raw natural gas for the transmission system. At the same time, the subject deals with the state and transport characteristics of the transported natural gas together with the qualitative and quantitative measurements at the transmission stations. Last but not least, the subject is focused on the use of natural gas as a chemical raw material and its use for the production of liquid hydrocarbons.

Syllabus -

The first block of the subject deals with topics describing natural gas extraction and its subsequent modification and in this context focuses on a) natural gas theories, its subsequent migration and accumulation, b) natural gas extraction, c) natural gas treatment for transport system, d ) non-conventional sources of natural gas, and (e) liquefaction of natural gas.

The second block of the subject focuses on the description of the use of natural gas in the transmission system and deals with the topics f) state and transport properties of natural gas, g) calculation of the compressibility factor, h) qualitative and quantitative measurements of natural gas at the transmission stations, i) natural gas odorization.

The third block of the subject is deals with the chemical use of natural gas as a chemical raw material. In this context, it focuses on: (i) the conversion of natural gas to liquid hydrocarbons, (k) the production of synthesis gas, (l) the direct and indirect production of chemical raw materials.
