Annotation -
Anaerobic biochemical processes are an important part of modern technologies developed to wastewater treatment, sludge and biowaste management. Transformation of organic pollution into the biogas is the biggest advantage of the anaerobic processes. Subject is explaining the principals of anaerobic processes and specific features of their technological applications. The content of the subject can be modified according the topic of the Ph.D. Thesis.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able:

  • to explain the biochemical background of the anaerobic digestion and biogas production
  • to select the optimal type of anaerobic technology for wastewater treatment and for sludge and biomass anaerobic digestion
  • to evaluate the relationship between anaerobic technology and other wastewater treatment processes
