The course covers advanced topics related to chemical engineering unit operations that involve powders, particles, or granular matter. The course will cover advanced methods of physico-chemical, textural and mechanical characterisation of particle systems, as well as advanced method for the computational simulation and modelling of unit operations that involve particles (Discrete Element Method, Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics, Population Balance Modelling).
