The student works on an independent laboratory project under the supervision of the supervisor, who assigns the topic, accompanies the student in the preparation of the experiment, discusses experimental problems, proposes a method of evaluating the results and checks the progress of the work. In the case of a project focused on computer modelling, calculations and simulations, the experimental part is replaced by testing the chosen computer program or creating your own model or program. The aim of the project is usually followed by the topic of the bachelor's thesis.

Student vypracovává samostatný laboratorní projekt pod dohledem vedoucího práce, který zadává téma, provází studenta přípravou experimentu, diskutuje experimentální problémy, navrhuje způsob hodnocení výsledků a kontroluje průběh práce. V případě projektu zaměřeného na počítačové modelování, výpočty a simulace je experimentální část nahrazena testováním zvoleného počítačového programu či tvorbou vlastního modelu či programu. Na téma práce zpravidla navazuje téma bakalářské práce.
