The course explains the technological processes for the production of glass, ceramics and inorganic binders. The physico-chemical bases of these processes and the relationships between structure and properties of these materials are discussed. The content of teaching deepens theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the courses Introduction to Materials and Inorganic Non-metallic Materials.

Students will be able to:

Discuss the relationships among structure, properties and applications of inorganic non-metallic materials.

Describe the technological processes for the production of glass, ceramics and inorganic binders.

Explain the physical and chemical processes occurring during the production of these materials.

Apply the results of characterization methods of inorganic non-metallic materials in relation to processes for their production and degradation.
