Single crystals are advanced materials widely used in various fields, e.g., electronics, optics, data transmission and processing, radiation detection and measurement, etc. The course gives information about relations between composition, crystal structure and properties of various materials as well as applications of single crystals.

know relations between structure and properties of crystalline materials;

choose suitable single crystal materials for desired applications;

choose suitable methods for preparation of single crystals.
