Annotation -
The aim of the course is to obtain basic information on climate change, its causes and consequences in a comprehensive concept. Course includes basic terms relating to the topic, the historical evolution of climate, sciences dealing with this change and look at climate change from several different aspects: ecological, technological, economic, political.

Students will:

know the basic principles governing the climate system now and in the history of the planet

be able to describe various anthropogenic influences and their effects on the climate system

know the technological, economic and political tools in the fight against climate change

2. Historical development of climate, climate in the last 1000 years, the evolution of the climate in Europe and the Czech Republic.

3. The causes of climate change I.

4. The causes of climate change II.

5. The greenhouse effect.

6. Greenhouse gases.

7. Observed climate change-changes in temperature, downfall, snow cover, ocean levels, extreme weather events.

8. Observed climate changes and their consequences in Europe and in the Czech Republic. The impact of climate change on human health.

9. Technological developments associated with climate change and the influence of individuals on climate change I.

10. Technological developments associated with climate change and the influence of individuals on climate change II.

11. The strategy of adapting behavior - Global.

12. The strategy of adapting behavior - Europe.

13. Climate change from an economic and political point of view.

14. Climate models and scenarios for the future development of the climate.
