Annotation -
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about the movement and action of chemicals in the environment. The course therefore provides information on the formation and fate of chemicals in the atmosphere, hydrosphere and pedosphere. Considerable attention is given to abiotic and biotic environmental reactions and equilibria. Completion of the course will enable students to learn about the complex issues of chemical action in all components of the environment and provide information on current trends in environmental protection.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

Characterize the individual components of the environment in terms of the occurrence of chemicals, their transformation and transport;

Interpret the fate of chemicals in the environment;

describe and explain the problems associated with pollution in different environmental compartments; discuss the possibilities of remedial action

Course completion requirements -

The course ends with a written examination - a test consisting of open questions on all topics covered in the course syllabus. In order to pass the exam, it is necessary to obtain at least 51 points out of 100 possible. In addition to one regular term, there are two make-up terms, which can also be used to improve the grade (the teacher must be informed of this intention). The marking of the test corresponds to the usual scale: 91-100 A, 81-90 B, 71-80 C, 61-70 D, 51-50 E, <50 F.

Requirements to the exam -

Hodnocení testu odpovídá obvyklé stupnici: 91 - 100 b A, 81 - 90 b B, 71 - 80 b C, 61 - 70 b D, 51 - 50 b E, < 50 b F. Při psaní testu není dovoleno používat žádnou literaturu ani vlastní poznámky, a to v jakékoliv formě.
