The course focuses on the most important representatives of all pathogenic microorganisms that can be used as biological weapons. Each group of selected pathogens will be characterized in detail and their risks will be assesed. The course also pays attention to the defense and protection against bio-weapons and to the bioterrorism legislation.
Aim of the course -
Last update: Ulbrich Pavel doc. Ing. Ph.D. (23.01.2018)

Students will be able to:

  • characterize representatives of microorganisms that can be used as biological weapons,
  • distinguish between potentially dangerous pathogens, usable in bioterrorism and other pathogens,
  • assess the risks associated with the use of specific pathogens in bioterrorism,
  • evaluate the strategy leading to the suppression of the risks associated with the use of pathogens as biological weapons and know how to defend against them.
