The aim of the subject is to introduce the molecular biology techniques of forensic analysis of common biological samples. It deals with isolation of nucleic acids, evaluation of its amount and integrity. The key part is the introduction to the techniques of forensic human identification with overlap to laboratory practice.

isolate nucleic acids from common biological sources

understand the basics of nucleic acid analysis by restriction cleavage
