Within this course, students get information about the laboratory-based strategy in forensic expertise based on modern analytical methods applicable by both specialized forensic laboratories and research institutions. In the first phase, sampling techniques will be presented with the focus on specific features of respective matrices. The following lectures then introduce individual groups of instrumental techniques; their application is demonstrated on various case studies. Attention is also paid to the issues related to quality assurance of analytical data and their interpretation.
