The subject Mechanical Engineering is introduction to an area which is part of the basic knowledge of technical engineers. Students of chemistry will be educated in related technical branches and they will learn the skills of communicating with the complex working team. The basics of the technical drawing, reading of the technical documentation, properties of the construction materials and the basic types of the chemical technology machinery (supporting structures, pipelines, pumps, pressure tanks, heat exchangers, driving mechanisms, power sources...) will be introduced.

The condition for the completion of the course is to pass a credit test, the majority of which consists in drawing a technical drawing of a given real component. Another condition is passing the oral exam. Topics related to technical drawing are excluded from the range of exam questions. The range of exam questions covers 1) classical engineering disciplines; 2) materials.
The credit is not classified and is conditioned by the student's ability to draw a technical drawing. In the oral exam, the student is evaluated on the basis of proving the extent of his knowledge in the field of classical mechanical engineering and construction materials.
