The course develops communication skills and vocabulary for students on the B2 CEFR level. Attention will be paid to vocabulary, grammar and functional language related to the field of economics, management, and business. The course focuses on developing all language skills including speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Covered topics include Corporate Culture, Finance, Digital Business, Performance, Ethics, and Time Management.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to accurately use selected grammar and lexical units, write shorter texts, work with specialized texts, and manage information with different speakers. The course also develops students’ intercultural awareness and fosters autonomous learning.

Studenti upevní a rozvinou své jazykové znalosti a komunikační dovednosti, frazeologii a slovní zásobu v anglickém jazyce, které odpovídají úrovni B2 evropského referenčního rámce; výuka je zaměřena na anglický jazyk pro ekonomii a management s přesahem do oblastí osobního života.
Probíraná témata zahrnují Corporate culture, Finance, Human Resources, Negotiating strategies, Production, Digital Technologies, aj.
Funkční jazyk zahrnuje Describing events occurring across various moments in time, Responding to good and bad news, Balancing positive and negative, Requesting, Clarifying, Reporting, and Speculating.
Projektová práce (s možností telekolaborace) zahrnuje moduly orientované např. na Organizing an international seminar nebo Study abroad.
Cíl předmětu
Na konci semestru studenti budou
umět přesněji využívat škálu gramatických nástrojů a jejich funkcionality v kontextu
lépe se orientovat v odborně zaměřených textech a cizojazyčných informacích
mít širší odbornou slovní zásobu
lépe rozumět různým mluvčím
zvládat ústní interakci s větší jistotou a přesností
uvědomovat si kulturní a jazykové rozmanitosti

Students can receive credit for the course if they:
1) Meet course attendance requirements
2) Submit a complete Course Portfolio
A course portfolio consists of two main sections: a) tasks completed throughout the semester based on the teacher’s instructions, and b) a short test.
