The course is focused on improvement of student’s art skills that are used within process of conservation-restoration of cultural heritage objects. Students practise and improve their skills in drawing, painting and photography according to the specialisation.
Aim of the course -

Students will be able to

  • use their skills in drawing, painting and modeling for conservation of cultural heritage objects.
  • make graphic,art and plastic studies of objects and their details.
  • take a photography of objects and their detail

according to the student’s field of study.

Conservation-restoration of handicraft works of metallic materials

Students will be able to:

  • Use your graphic and visual skills when restoring monuments
  • Perform an artistic and graphic study of objects and their details

Conservation-restoration of handicraft works of textile materials
The student manages the photographic techniques necessary for the documentation of restoration work: it controls image technology, lighting technology, digital photography processing in the most widespread programs, controls printing, working with photos on the web, photo wrapping in text and basic archiving programs.

Conservation-restoration of metal artifacts
Art, graphic and plastic acquisition of heraldry issues and attributes in iconography

Preparation of the theme (plastic, graphical) for the casting of the lost wax.

Fundamentals of working with vector graphics, transfer of bit maps into vectors for use in the art scheme of the current art state (Corel (Draw)

Conservation-restoration of glass and ceramics:

Mastering of shape, plasticity and perspective, décor and colour.

Mastering of painting study of human skull, animal skull, product of nature.

Tempera and aquarelle painting.

Conservation-restoration artifacts of textile materials:
  • Studio equipment: camera, software.
  • . Basics of imaging, framing, space, light, composition.
  • Shooting techniques: exponometry, camera, optics.
  • Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge in photography.
  • Specifics of colour photography, colour composition of picture.
  • Specifics of indoor work: light construction, plane, surface, material, object.
  • Specifics of outdoor work: natural lighting, actual light reality and its changes, object in space.
